Kids helping kids

By | Events | No Comments

20160516_134250-1024x576BUMBLEance has a number of different fundraising events around the country. We are always delighted when people get in contact in order to fundraise. These amazing and interested people allow us to continue helping critically ill children. Sometimes we are contacted by children, young boys and girls that want to help children the same age as them. This is a heart-warming moment.

On November 2015, BUMBLEance was contacted by a young girl named Bronagh. She wanted to raise money for BUMBLEance by cutting her hair. Over the next few weeks Bronagh convinced people to sponsor her haircut. She asked neighbours, friends, locals, anyone that could afford a donation.

When the day of the haircut finally arrived Bronagh took some before and after pictures to send to BUMBLEance. She donated her hair to the Rapunzel Foundation and raised €2290 for BUMBLEance. This is an amazing feat for anybody, and well done to Bronagh for doing such a great job.

On 16 May, our BUMBLEance team visited Bronagh at her school for a cheque presentation. We were overwhelmed by this kind and generous young girl. This is what BUMBLEance is all about. We help critically ill children across the country, but we need your support. So we would like to say “Thank You” to Bronagh for being a terrific volunteer.

The Saoirse Foundation – 6th Birthday Today

31 MARCH 2016

The Saoirse Foundation is SIX YEARS OLD today. We cannot believe how time has flown by

6 years of supporting critically ill children nationwide
6 years of fighting against Battens Disease
6 Years of supporting ground breaking research into rare diseases
6 years of developing and implementing BUMBLEance, The Children’s National Ambulance Service
6 years of developing plans for Liam’s Lodge – A National Respite Centre for children with Rare and Genetic Disorders
6 years of strategic planning in order to provide top level support to future generations of Ireland’s most ill and vulnerable children

On our 6th birthday, we take time to reflect and to say a massive THANK YOU to all of our wonderful supporters. We could not do any of the above without your help.

THANK YOU to our amazing sponsors, supporters, loyal followers, families and friends. You have very kindly provided us with vital, ongoing support and without you we would not be able to do the work that we do. Your contribution has provided a life line for so many families in crisis nationwide and we appreciate every single effort that you have made on their behalf. Thank You for enabling us to keep on SUPPORTING SICK CHILDREN throughout Ireland. TODAY WE CELEBRATE YOU and we are very much looking forward to working together with you as we reach new and exciting heights.

We are also taking this moment to remember our very special Little Angels who have grown their Angel Wings over the past 6 years. They are the reason why we want to expand and improve our services. We know that these special Little Angels are watching over us and their families daily and we will remember them always.

We work hard to help children and families in need of vital support and Ireland’s ill children are the reason that we keep on fighting – these children inspire us every single day.

Happy Birthday to the Saoirse Foundation! Thank You to each and every one of you for your ongoing, loyal and treasured support.

Take part in the TCD Research Study to Evaluate Bumbleance

By | Events | No Comments

On behalf of BUMBLEance & the Saoirse Foundation, Dr. Honor Nicholl and her colleagues at the School of Nursing and Midwifery in Trinity College Dublin are currently undertaking a research study entitled ‘Evaluating BUMBLEance – The Children’s National Ambulance Service’. The aim of the study is to evaluate the BUMBLEance Service, so that the charity can provide the best possible service to their little VICs (Very Important Children).

For the evaluation we are seeking input from:

The parents/guardians or family members who are aged 18 years or more, of children who have used the BUMBLEance service. The Link for Service Users is https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YRT2HS8

The support providers to our BUMBLEance King & Queen Bees, who have used the BUMBLEance service for children in their care. The Link for Service Providers is  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZFWXW6M

The questionnaire should take less than 15 minutes to complete and will be open until 10.00am on Monday 18th April 2016. We would really appreciate if you could take the time to participate in this study, so we can continue to deliver smiles across Ireland.

If you prefer to complete the questionnaire over the telephone or should you have any questions about this research study, please contact Dr. Aileen Lynch (01-8968571 or email: amlynch@tcd.ie).
