Ahascragh St Patrick’s Day Parade
Ahascragh Development Association will host a St Patrick’s Day Parade on Tuesday 17th March at 4pm in the village of Ahascragh, Ballinasloe, Co Galway. A fundraising collection will be held throughout the day in the village in aid of BUMBLEance.
Ahascragh Development Association is a small voluntary based community group located in the village of Ahascragh in East Galway. They were established in February 2010 and during their short time together they have proven that hard work, commitment and dedication can impact well within the group and the wider community.
Initially the group was made up of 10 local people. Since then the group has gone from strength to strength and they now currently have 15 members as well as a lot of volunteers from within the community to assist on their various projects.
Ahascragh Development Association have been responsible for a number of projects throughout the year including the Tidy Towns competition, the Village Festival, The Fair Day, St. Patrick’s Day Parade children’s parties at Halloween and Easter are a few but to mention.
To date they have won three National awards in the Tidy Towns competition as well as a County Mayors award in 2013. They were successful in being chosen for an ID Film project in 2013. They organise a number of fundraisers throughout the year to help finance various projects within the village.
The group are very supportive of other Charity groups outside of the community and each year they organise a fundraiser for a charity group of their choice.
